The Plant Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of facilities to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant production processes. This position is responsible for managing plant personnel, coordinating maintenance activities, and optimizing equipment performance to meet production targets while adhering to environmental and safety regulations. The role supports the establishment of an organization capable of producing results consistent with company-level performance criteria and plans.
The Plant Manager leads the workforce in continuous improvement activities, both systems and processes, and benchmarks appropriate standards of conduct throughout the operation. This role requires strategic planning to improve operational workflows, reduce downtime, and implement best practices in resource management. The Plant Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, safety, logistics, and finance to align plant operations with organizational goals. Ultimately, this role ensures that plant operations contribute to the overall profitability and sustainability of the company’s extraction activities.
- Bachelor’s Degree or 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of education
- 3 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
- Proven experience in managing teams and coordinating complex operational activities.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to extraction operations.
- Proficiency in using plant management software and operational data analysis tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.
- Familiarity with basic continuous improvement practices (e.g., Lean principles or process optimization).
- General understanding of automation or control systems used in plant operations.
- Experience supporting facility upgrades or small-scale improvement projects.
- Lead and supervise plant operations staff to maintain high levels of productivity, safety, and quality.
- Develop and implement operational plans to meet production schedules and performance criteria.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Analyze operational data to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Manage budgets related to plant operations, including labor, materials, and maintenance costs.
- Collaborate with engineering, safety, and logistics teams to support plant upgrades and new equipment installations.
- Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance, safety metrics, and operational challenges to senior management.
- Handle special projects as assigned.
