The Turbomachinery New Product Introduction and Technology Group is looking for the next generation of highly capable and competent
advanced degree engineers in the data science, combustion, or gas turbine aerodynamic fields.
The successful candidate would start as part of an Engineering Rotation Program cohort that is designed to provide a strong foundation for the individual. The rotations are carefully selected based on the individual and the organization’s needs and designed to support the successful future in the New Product Introduction Team.
The rotation would consist of three (3) challenging 16 – 20-week rotations in departments that enhance the candidates understanding of the enterprise, expand product knowledge and learn Solar’s design processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- In the process of obtaining or have obtained a Master or PhD degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering, with a specialization in combustion technology, data science, or turbomachinery aerodynamics
- Overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- 0-3 years of industry experience or direct applied research
- Previous Internship and/or relevant work/research experience
- Technical knowledge of engineering fundamentals
- Must be able and willing to relocate to San Diego, CA
- Experience with Gas Turbine technology
- High energy level and sense of urgency
- Good business / technical judgment
- Ability to handle multiple priorities for a variety of tasks
- Problem solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary for this role ranges from $78,936, to $115,627. Actual salary will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:- Annual incentive bonus plan*
