The Tool maker and repairer position uses appropriate equipment to create and make tooling to match part drawings. Tool and die makers are a class of machinists in the manufacturing industries who make jugs, fixtures, dies, machine tools, cutting tools, gauges, and other tools used in manufacturing processes. …Job-shop machinists can be any combination of tool maker and production machinist.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Read blueprints and use necessary measuring devices to make, or modify
existing tooling, tools for new or old job prints.
- Make sure tools are sharpened and tool holders in good working condition before
being placed back on shelf or in tool drawers. Repairs or requisition replacement
parts, tooling or hardware as needs to maintain adequate stock.
- Check tooling in and out of tool room.
- Set up and operate all tool room machines/lathes for specific form tool, tap, drills, or
- Make up set up kits, for any machine upon
- Preferred heading experience in a Fastener Industry.
- Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing
information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written
form, e-mail, or in person. Remain calm in stressful situations
- Prioritize, Organize, and accomplish work efficiently
- IATF 16949 knowledge.
- Move quickly from task to task with minimal errors and/or omissions
- Deductive Reasoning — The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to
- Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, and temperatures,
- Knowledge of Basic Maintenance of Heading
- Tools – Read Calipers, Micrometers and Blue Prints.
- Always follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines.

- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
- Ability to continuously stand and move through 8–10-hour shifts.
- 100% onsite. One work location.
