Primary Purpose PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Diagnoses and performs involved maintenance and repair on all types of vehicles and construction equipment.
Primary Duties PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Advanced knowledge and ability to operate and maintain/repair various equipment including , aerial devices, cranes, bulldozers, and various other machinery.
- Instructs/directs lower classified employees, coordinates and inspects work as required.
- Inspects, diagnoses, performs general services and repairs including preventative maintenance to all types of motor vehicles, transportation, construction and related specialized equipment including new technology. (For example, HVAC Fabrication.
- Inspects and maintains safe work area/environment/tools and reports hazardous or abnormal conditions.
- Accurately assists maintaining parts stockroom, issuance of orders and stock inventory as necessary.
- May prepare and maintain various records on vehicle and equipment maintenance as required. Responsible for completing clerical and administrative functions, as required.
- Accountable for ensuring the security and use of all Company-owned tools and equipment aligned with PHI programs and procedures.
- Responsible for administration of environmental compliance.
- Administer fuel island programs using appropriate service methods and procedures.
Job Scope
JOB SCOPE Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS- Ability to meet deadlines, while managing multiple priorities and implement successful solutions in a constantly changing environment.
- Possess advanced knowledge of automotive mechanics, to include mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and functions.
- Possess advanced working knowledge of, and the ability to read, analyze and interpret schematics to repair hydraulic, electrical and other technical diagnostic data (eg., scan machines/scanners).
- Ability to provide on the job knowledge sharing as required.
- Ability and willingness to work at any and all Pepco work locations and shifts as required.
- Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English language.
- Maintain ASE certified in the areas listed below: Master Medium/Heavy Vehicle Technician Series Tl through TS: Tl - Gasoline Engine T2 - Diesel Engine T3 - Drive Train T4 - Brakes TS - Suspension and Steering T6 - Electrical/Electronic System T7 - Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HV AC) TS - Preventive Maintenance Inspection
- High School Diploma or equivalent, such as a Technical Diploma in Mechanical Repair.
- Must possess an active CDL license
- Must possess basic computer skills including use of internet and email
- Hourly rates will be paid in accordance with terms of the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience or collective bargaining agreement: $47.11/Hr.
