The
Manager, Structured Financeis a core member of team that evaluates, negotiates, and executes tax equity financing and tax credit transfer transactions for renewable energy projects. The Structured Finance team works closely with investors, tax credit buyers, third-party consultants, and internal business teams to efficiently execute financing transactions and support RWE's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate has experience in building complex financial models for renewable energy projects, experience modeling tax equity financing structures, has a problem-solving mindset to efficiently manage multiple priorities, and has worked in a fast paced environment.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead valuation modeling for tax equity transactions and other financing arrangements
- Coordinate various workstreams necessary to successfully execute financing transactions, including diligence management
- Provide support to senior deal members in deal structuring and negotiating deal documentation
- Provide coaching and development to Analysts and Senior Analysts in the team, particularly in the areas of financial modeling and transaction execution
- Work collaboratively across RWE business teams related to financial modeling and transaction execution
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including financing parties
- Prepare internal and external presentation materials
- Assist other parts of the finance team as required, including investment decision support and quality control reviews
- Recommend and lead process improvement initiatives
- Assist with various internal ad hoc projects
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or other analytical/quantitative field (required)
- MBA, CFA or similar postgraduate degree (preferred but not required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience overall in a role with an emphasis on maintaining financial models and investment presentations
- Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Ofifce (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel formulas and model creation
- Knowledgeable of renewable energy project economics (specifically wind, solar, or storage) and related incentive systems
- Experience modeling tax equity partnership flip structures or similar project finance modeling
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Ability to apply creative thinking to solve complex, interrelated problems
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven ability to build relationships and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Strong business acumen and a sound understanding of business concepts
- Effective communicator with strong written and presentation skills
- Comfortable working in a fast paced and challenging finance environment
Pay range:
The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $112,000 - $161,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
