Structural Steel Estimator

Job Description

We are a well-respected and established Steel Fabricator and Erector based in the greater San Diego Metropolitan area. We are looking for a Senior Steel Estimator to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in estimating and a proven track record of meeting deadlines while balancing multiple bids. You’ll be working directly with our General Manager.

Some of the experience we are looking for is:

- Minimum 5 years of structural & miscellaneous steel estimating experience.

- San Diego/California experience preferred.

- Ability to interpret architectural & structural design drawings.

- Capable of producing take-offs based on these drawings.

- Tekla Estimating or any other software is highly desirable

Daily roles & Responsibilities:

- Generate budget estimates based off architectural, structural drawings.

- Quantify all aspects of a bid from material cost, detailing hours, fabrication etc.

- Co-ordinate with general contractors and sub-contractors for complete estimates.

- Build great working relationships with partners and general contractors.

- Creating multiple proposals simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

- Working with the project manager handling change orders & cost impact.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
