Job Objective:
Diagnoses problems and performs necessary repairs on machinery and/or related mechanical equipment and helps maintain a safe work environment for the company.
- Identifies and repairs mechanical and electrical faults by discussion with field operators, listening to machinery and using specialized testing equipment.
- Works under periodic supervision, but only for highly complex and non-routine tasks.
- Investigates faulty machinery/mechanical equipment, check parts using equipment, and refer to workshop manuals, and makes notifications to supervisor.
- Performs varied tasks and projects of moderate to occasionally high complexity requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Routine technical and operations assignments completed independently.
- Familiarizes self with all facility components and operations.
- Called upon to make independent decisions.
- Cleans, lubricates and tunes mechanical equipment to make them run properly.
- Repairs damaged or faulty parts with new or rebuilt parts.
- Repairs and adjust electrical faults in mechanical equipment.
- Monitors and reads gauges to verify sufficient levels of fluids, pressure, and temperature.
- Maintains records or daily activates.
- Readily identifies and promptly acts upon requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, protection of community, personnel, environment and assets.
- Demonstrate commitment to company core values — Integrity, Ownership, Urgency, Alignment, and Innovation — in all daily responsibilities and interactions.
- Actively support and contribute to the company’s mission and vision through reliable, high-quality work
- 6 months minimum of oil and gas mechanic experience.
- Requires supervision, direction, and training in the performance of routine duties.
- Basic mathematic and mechanical skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to accurately solve problems.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Ability to accurately perform tasks.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with different truck groups that transport products.
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook).
- Ability to make independent, rational decisions, as required.
- Ability to work alone and highly motivated.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle in and around process area. Ability to consider safety in all decisions.
- Self-starter, team player, and comfortable working under pressure.
- Required: High School diploma or GED. Some college preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Valid driver’s license.
