Job Overview

A leading energy services firm is seeking an experienced BESS Commissioning Manager to support a utility-scale battery storage project in ERCOT. This role will oversee all commissioning and performance testing activities onsite and ensure all ERCOT documentation, sequencing, and approval requirements are met.

Duties

- Lead onsite BESS commissioning and performance testing from January through Substantial Completion.

- Manage commissioning sequence, schedule, PODs, and testing deliverables.

- Ensure OEM/vendor (e.g., FlexGen) adherence to testing procedures and timelines.

- Review, organize, and maintain all commissioning and testing documentation.

- Support ERCOT submissions for Checklist Part 2 and Part 3 approvals.

- Serve as onsite point-of-contact for all commissioning activities.

Qualifications

- Direct ERCOT commissioning experience with utility-scale BESS projects.

- Strong working knowledge of BESS performance testing, energization, and grid synchronization.

- Experience with ERCOT BESS testing requirements and Checklist Parts 1–3.

- Ability to manage vendors and coordinate testing activities independently.

- Excellent communication, documentation, and project oversight skills.

Pay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50.0 – 60.0 per week
