As a Grid Scale Renewables Solar Design Intern, you will have an opportunity to gain site design skills, exposure to current renewable energy policy, and understand solar project development. You will work directly with ENGIE site design professionals to provide support for the growing portfolio of grid-scale projects in North America. As the intern, your responsibilities will include supporting utility-scale designs using AutoCAD, PVSYST, QGIS, and NREL-SAM. Additionally, you will learn how to support verifications of site design criteria and prepare design inputs and constraints.
- Currently a junior or senior working towards pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical or other related engineering programs, or a graduate student with experience in a closely related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Excellent oral and written communication, and presentation skills, with strong analytical thinking
- Direct experience in wind / solar site design is a plus
- Experience with tools such as Pvsyst, Sift, PVCase, MS Excel macros, VBA scripting, or Python scripting is a plus
- The internship work term will be from January 5, 2026, to May 29, 2026 and require a minimum of 20 hours per week
- This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy and is not eligible for remote work
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
