Maintenance / Electrical Technician & PM Champion

Position Summary

A small manufacturing plant in the Youngstown, Ohio area is looking for an experienced Mechanical / Electrical Technician. This full-time position combines hands-on troubleshooting and repairs with leading our preventative maintenance (PM) program.

You’ll be part of the team responding to equipment issues while also setting up and maintaining a PM system that reduces downtime and keeps equipment operating as intended.

Key Responsibilities

- Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and install plant equipment including overhead cranes, motors (AC/DC, single and three-phase), hydraulics, pneumatics, wiring, welding, and pipe fitting per diagrams and manuals.

- Lead PM implementation: set up schedules, tasks, and a work request system so issues and ideas are captured and prioritized.

- Track temporary (“T”) vs. permanent (“P”) repairs — no temporary fix comes off the list until the equipment is restored to its original expected lifespan.

- Work with operators to uncover hidden workarounds or “backup modes,” log these issues, and drive equipment back to normal operation.

- Coordinate with production to schedule planned PM windows while supporting uptime goals.

- Maintain good housekeeping and safety standards; interface with vendors and customers as required.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- 5+ years of mechanical/electrical maintenance experience in an industrial setting.

- Strong troubleshooting skills and proficiency with diagnostic tools.

- Organized, self-motivated, and persistent — committed to fixing root causes, not just symptoms.

- Able to build trust and communicate effectively with operators, supervisors, and leadership.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
