Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, you will be part of the Health and Safety Department. You will perform training facilitation for areas related to Common Core, or skill-based requirements of the workforce for Upper Beaver operations, with a focus on the mining department. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Provide instruction and guidance to employees on the proper use of underground mining equipment;
- Support health & safety and mining training curriculum, training schedules and safe operating procedures;
- Provide leadership necessary to ensure that employees and contractors adhere to safety and environmental standards in conjunction with the safety and environmental department;
- Assess qualifications and on the job training of all new employees;
- Perform regular training needs analysis and ensure accurate and comprehensive training records are maintained;
- Ensure employees are adequately assessed and trained for their assigned work, as well as updating training records;
- Suggest and track policy updates, regulations, and safety standards issued annually by our Company;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an underground mine training capacity;
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants;
- Demonstrated leadership skills in influencing, conflict management, training of personnel, etc;
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others and initiate change that yields positive results in terms of health and safety;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint & EHS software.
- Schedule: 5/2 or 4/3 schedule at our Upper Beaver Gold Project in Dobie, ON.
