About the Role:
The GOA Specialist Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing support to the Shenzi TLP asset to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of electrical systems. This role will report to the Frontline Engineering Team Lead for Shenzi TLP and is based in Houston, Texas. This is an entry level role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Provide technical leadership for electrical systems troubleshooting and maintenance activities related to surface and subsea production equipment and in compliance with technical standards, processes, and procedures.
•Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring electrical systems and associated maintenance activities comply with regulatory and safety standards
•Create and assure effective maintenance protocols for electrical equipment to drive safety and reliability.
•Foster effective relationships with both office and field based teams
•Lead and mentor maintenance team members, fostering knowledge-sharing and adherence to best practices in electrical systems safety and reliability.
•Identify, design, and implement engineering and maintenance change projects related to the electrical discipline, following Management of Change procedures. Review and endorse electrical components of Management of Change projects led by other engineers for the facility
•PWork towards serving as “System Custodian” for Safety Critical Systems as assigned
•Participate as a member of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) teams as required
•Participate in HAZID/HAZOP/Design Reviews and support action closeout
•Ensure technical risks are identified and assessments conducted in accordance with the Process Safety Management procedure requirements
•Provide guidance to contractors on the application of Woodside’s procedures and guidelines
•Must be able to travel to offshore facility to complete scopes as needed. Trips could be minimum 3 days to more than a week
Skills & Experience:
•A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
•0-2 years’ industry related experience
•Strong problem solving and analytics skills to address complex technical challenged effectively and as part of a dynamic and integrated team
•Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to high accuracy and safety standards
•Demonstrates strong teamwork and influencing skills
•Demonstrates high levels of business acumen
•Understanding of the interactions between various interfaces and different disciplines
•Operations experience may be preferred
•Ability to obtain a TWIC for offshore travel
•Able to pass the required physical and safety training program for offshore travel via helicopter
•Experience with the following industry standards is a plus
•Experience with / knowledge of regulatory requirements in the Gulf of America is a plus
•ABS Classification Facility Rules
