The Cost of Quality (COQ) Leader will play a critical role in establishing, documenting, and standardizing COQ practices across major LNG projects. This position is responsible for defining, tracking, and analyzing the full spectrum of COQ buckets — including prevention, appraisal, internal failure, and external failure costs — with a primary focus on construction, installation, and commissioning phases. Additionally, the COQ Leader will drive continuous development and improvement of COQ buckets, ensuring that findings directly feed into RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions) processes.

- Partner with Project Quality Leaders, Construction Managers, and Commissioning teams to establish consistent data capture and reporting standards.
- Build and implement dashboards to monitor trends, drive visibility, and measure cost impacts of quality issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify systemic issues driving COQ and partner with Continuous Improvement teams to ensure effective CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions).
- Support lessons learned reviews and embed findings into future projects to reduce overall COQ.
- Provide monthly COQ reporting to leadership and recommend initiatives to reduce quality-related costs while improving reliability and safety.
- Collaborate with Finance to validate and quantify COQ data for project and enterprise-level reporting.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical discipline (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- 8+ years of quality, operations, or project management experience within LNG, oil & gas, EPC, or large-scale industrial construction.
- Strong knowledge of COQ frameworks, RCA, CAPA, and quality management systems (ISO 9001 preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and cost-saving initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
