We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our team. This role involves working on the design, development, and documentation of sheet metal components and assemblies. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks and have a strong understanding of engineering principles, fasteners, and manufacturing processes.
This position will be responsible for the following Duties and Responsibilities:
•Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
•Create and update engineering drawings and bills of material (BOM) to ensure accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
•Collaborate with engineering, production, and procurement teams to ensure designs meet quality and manufacturing standards.
•Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage and track project details, BOMs, and manufacturing workflows.
•Perform inspections of parts and assemblies using standard measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
•Select appropriate fasteners and other components to meet design and performance specifications.
•Support production teams by providing technical assistance and addressing design-related issues.
•Review and analyze designs to identify potential improvements and ensure compliance with industry standards.
•Maintain accurate documentation and revision control of all engineering designs.
•Use Microsoft Office tools for documentation, reports, and communication.
Key Qualifications:
•Proficiency in SolidWorks with a focus on sheet metal design.
•Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, BOM creation, and revision management.
•Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for tracking manufacturing processes and materials.
•Experience with standard fasteners and their applications in mechanical designs.
•Ability to inspect parts using standard measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively across departments.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Previous experience in sheet metal design or manufacturing.
•Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
•Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Compensation:
This is a full-time position with a salary to be determined depending upon experience.
