$85,000 to $107,375 Job Description Job SummaryThe engineer will support the Metering Supervisor in guiding , coaching, leading, training and planning the activities of the Meter Test Lab and Meter Engineering. This position will provide technical direction and field support to the Field Metering Services group and the Revenue Metering Services function.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Metering Supervisor in training and leading the activities of the Meter Test Lab and Meter Services.
- Ensure all metering associated with major revenue accounts and ISO inner tie metering are monitored and working properly.
- Coordinate this effort with meter reading, RMS personnel and account management.
- Administer and Monitor the State mandated periodic and selective test program. This includes the generation of tests for all meter types, monitoring the program progress and supervising the accuracy and completeness of the program.
- Coordinate, plan and schedule the installation, replacement or upgrade of complex metering at our customer locations and stations.
- Create and update metering standards and guidelines including meter installation standards, The UI Guidebook of Requirements for Electrical Service and any additional metering information requested or required.
- Prepare and maintain engineering records and documentation as required. This would include metering one line design drawings and modified station prints.
- Manage small projects/processes or teams (Plan, schedule, monitor and control budget, coordinate various detailed phases of engineering work for assigned portions of a major project/program).
- Guide or mentor others.
- Review the engineering work of drafters, designers, subordinate engineers and consultants.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited college/university plus 5 years’ experience performing engineering duties or an A.S. engineering degree from an ABET accredited university plus 9 years’ experience in a specific Electric System engineering discipline ( e.g. Distribution, Transmission, etc.) . UI Basic Engineering Training Curriculum ( e.g. ECNE - PUI) or equivalent.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current Electrical Code, ANSI and State metering standards.
- Possess in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in metering engineering discipline along with related business practices and procedures.
- Able to explain difficult issues and work to establish consensus.
- Able to read, interpret and create electrical drawings.
- Able to work in a cross-functional team and guide or mentor other team members.
- Five years of experience in metering applications is preferred.
