United Cooperative Services has an open position for an Internet Services Technician in our Cleburne Internet Services Department.
Candidate should have a stable, verifiable work history, with an acceptable MVR. A pre-employment drug and alcohol screen is required. This is a career job with progressive pay and an outstanding benefit package. This non-exempt position starts at $31.89 per hour. Positions are open until filled.

The Internet Services Technician will install and repair fiber-to-the-premise (FTTx) and fixed wireless (FW) internet and voice-over-internet-protocol (VoIP) services. This position represents United every day to our members, entering members’ premises to install and troubleshoot customer-premise equipment (CPE) for IP services offered by United. In addition, the candidate is well-versed in taking an analytical approach, providing data that will be used to inform both internal and external personnel and members on issues that impact member service offerings.

Membership: Courteously answer member inquiries and, if unable to do so, directs them to the appropriate person, making every effort to increase their understanding and acceptance of the Cooperative's plans, policies, and programs.
Job Knowledge, Training and Experience: At least 2 years of related experience in the field. Also requires 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, working with 3rd party installation vendors. Willingness to go the extra mile to provide the membership with the expected level of service they are accustomed to receiving.
Equipment Operated: Must be able to operate personal computers and related software. Must be able to use office equipment and telecommunications equipment. Must have a current Texas driver’s license without violations that would prohibit insurability.
Abilities and Skills: Experience with installing Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and fixed wireless internet services. Knowledge of FTTH and fixed wireless networks, both aerial and underground is highly preferred. The ability to assess different installation scenarios, effectively determine required time, approach, and equipment that will be required, and clearly communicating plans of action with members and internal staff. Lifts and carries loads up to 75lbs (including ladders). Able to work aloft at heights.
Physical Effort: Must be able to perform all activities listed in the job description with or without reasonable accommodation.
Working Conditions: Requires working indoors and outdoors with some irregular, weekend/evening on-call hours. Some travel is required inside and outside the cooperative service area.
