About the Position:
The Town of Round Hill is seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our Utility Department as a Utility Operations Driver & Maintenance Technician. This is a part-time, temporary position for a one-year term, with the potential to become a permanent role based on performance and future staffing needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values public service, and wants to learn more about water & sewer operations in a small-town setting.
Key Responsibilities:
•Drive a town-operated dump truck (no CDL required) to the landfill three days a week.
•Wash and clean the dump truck after each use.
•Deliver water and wastewater lab samples to regional drop-off points.
•Pick up and deliver parts, tools, and supplies to utility sites such as water plants and well houses.
•Assist with general maintenance tasks such as cleaning, site repairs, and minor facility upkeep.
•Learn new tasks over time, including assisting with equipment operations at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Qualifications:
Required:
•Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in outdoor environments.
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•Dependability, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
Preferred:
•Experience in maintenance, delivery driving, or public works is a plus.
•Interest in learning more about water and wastewater operations.
Working Conditions:
•This job requires outdoor work in all weather conditions.
•Physical activity such as lifting, bending, and walking on uneven terrain is part of the daily routine.
•Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and required for certain tasks.
