Be Part of Something Bigger Than Quality Control
At Specialty Machine, we don’t just machine parts—we build the future. From precision components for cutting-edge semiconductor systems to mission-critical parts for defense and aerospace, the work you inspect will directly support the people and industries that protect and propel our nation.
Our Quality Department is growing—and we’re seeking a driven Quality Inspector I or II who’s ready to step in, take ownership, and elevate our quality efforts in our Lago Vista facility.
What You’ll Own in Your First 90 Days
•Take full responsibility for managing the calibration program across both of our production facilities.
•Support live machining operations by performing in-process inspections (FPI) on complex, high-precision parts.
•Run basic CMM programs (Zeiss and Brown & Sharpe) with confidence.
•Generate clear and accurate inspection reports aligned with our QMS and customer requirements.
Why This Role Matters
You’ll be joining a collaborative quality team where your contribution will have an immediate and visible impact. You’ll work alongside seasoned inspectors, interface with machinists and leadership, and inject the energy and professionalism we need to keep pace with growing defense-sector demands.
What We’re Looking For
•A questioning attitude with laser-sharp attention to detail
•Confidence to provide forceful backup to more experienced team members when quality is at stake
•Familiarity with quality management systems like ISO 9001 and AS9100
•Strong grasp of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
•Effective communicator—clear, confident, and collaborative
•Working knowledge of inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages, thread gages, optical comparators)
•Ability to read engineering drawings, understand tolerances, and document results
•Strong math and geometry skills
Nice-to-Haves
•Previous experience in CNC machining or precision manufacturing
•QA Certifications (e.g., ASQ, IPC, NDT) a strong plus
•Experience using or programming CMMs (PC-DMIS or Calypso)
•Mastercam experience or equivalent
Work Environment
•Climate-controlled CNC shop
•Standing, moving, and lifting parts up to 45 lbs
•Tools, tech, and support to help you succeed
•Full-time, day or evening shift, onsite in Lago Vista, TX

This is more than a job—it’s a chance to build your career while supporting the industries and warfighters that protect our future.
