Source Corrosion is looking for a Cathodic Protection Tester/Technician to join our team in various areas throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Corrosion Technicians are responsible for performing duties associated with testing, evaluation and installation of Cathodic Protection Systems to prevent the effects of soil-side corrosion on various structures.
- Support project planning for testing, evaluation and installation of cathodic protection systems to inhibit corrosion on various structures
- Complete specific objectives with instruction from senior staff on customer drawings and specifications
- Assist senior personnel in the preparation of survey reports and final job reports
- Make in-field corrections to CP systems with approval from supervisors
- Make recommendations for system modifications as required
- Ensure effective and professional communication with clients
- Execute specific test procedures to gather CP data for evaluation
- Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data
- Assemble data for preparation of final client report including service recommendations
- Provide maintenance of field test equipment and ensure it is in- Relevant experience with corrosion prevention and cathodic protection experience (2+ years preferred)
- Proficiency with computer software tools (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Team player and willingness to learn
- Oil and gas field work experience (2+ years preferred)- Minimum NACE CP1 certification with NACE CP2 certification preferred
- Driver’s license or equivalent with acceptable driving record
- Experience operating quads and snowmobiles an asset
- Safety tickets, such as First Aid, CSTS, H2S, WHMIS an asset
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Regular travel required
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Field work and walking to job sites
Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
