Exciting Opportunity for a Talented AutoCAD Technician/ Graphic creator with a large aluminum extrusion manufacturing plant!
About Us: Signature Aluminum has operated on Clements Rd in Pickering since 1985. We supply thousands of different extruded shapes to hundreds of customers in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
The Role: Every length of extrusion shipped by Signature is bundled with similar pieces in a unique way to protect the product from damage and optimize truck utilization. An image must be created for each individual bundle design with enough detail so the Production staff can bundle the extrusion effective and efficiently.
Responsibilities: As a key player in our team, you will play a crucial role in:
- Create a “Pak Pic” in a standard format for each shape produced
- Upload the Pak Pics to the system where they are available to the Production floor
- Import and manipulate AutoCAD files from system, to create the most efficient nesting and stacking of parts.
- Select wooden bats from the types available and include other materials between layers as required to protect the aluminum surfaces.
- Design the size of the bundle to meet customer requirements and maximize freight efficiency.
- Create a wide variety of other documents- Work Instructions, Presentation Slides, Training Presentations and Sales / Website content.
- Strong communication, active listening, and collaboration skills to work with Production, Quoting, Purchasing and Program Launch departments.
- Utilize your analytical prowess to evaluate options and choose innovative solutions.
- Demonstrate your strong capabilities in math and written English.
- Currently enrolled in Engineering or Technology program.
- Certification in AutoCAD or other 3D modeling software (Preference for Pro Engineer or AutoCAD Light).
- Experience with graphic layout/ design software
- Proven document creation experience
