Job Description
Assist the Driller with the safe and efficient execution of all well and drilling activities .
Responsibilities Assist with:
- Maintaining and operating the mud pump room and all associated equipment and systems.
- Maintaining drilling fluid properties and volumes as per instructions.
- Promptly informing the Driller of any unexplained changes in pit volumes.
- Promptly informing the Driller of any unexplained changes in drilling fluid properties.
- Participating in drilling fluid transfers to and from supply vessels.
- Ensuring all relevant governing documents are adhered to by direct reports.
- Revising all relevant governing documents as and when required.
- Providing clear daily operational guidelines to all direct reports.
- Conducting all drills and checks as required.
- Maintaining all applicable reports and logs as required by the Driller, Client, and Company.
- Close cooperation with the Mud Engineer and Mud Loggers.
- Providing thorough handovers at each daily change of shift.
- Performing other duties as and when required and/or directed by the direct supervisor.
- Preparation for future drilling operations.
- Training subordinates in order to make them suitable for a higher position.
- Well kill operations as per instructions from Seadrill supervisors.
- Operational preparedness of all safety and emergency equipment.
- Control room equipment is maintained and maintenance is recorded.
- Drilling fluid equipment is maintained, including first-line maintenance, and maintenance is recorded.
- A running inventory of mud pump and mud processing consumables is maintained.
Qualifications
As per Seadrill training and competence directives.
