About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Plant Manager to oversee operations at our metal service center. This role requires strong leadership, knowledge of metal processing, and the ability to manage a fast-paced environment focused on cutting, processing, and distributing metal products. The Plant Manager will also work closely with our downstream sister companies to support production flow , shared resources, and overall company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all daily plant operations, including cutting, shearing, sawing, packaging, and shipping.
- Lead and supervise plant staff, ensuring productivity, performance, and accountability.
- Oversee scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Ensure safe work practices and maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain quality standards.
- Work closely with sales and operations teams to support order fulfillment and customer needs.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee material handling processes.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of management experience in a metal service center or related metal industry.
- Strong understanding of metal processing (shears, saws, forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.).
- Proven leadership and team-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Solid communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with lean manufacturing or process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of ERP or warehouse management systems.
