Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Class A Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge, with a strong focus on precision machining. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced equipment such as CNC lathes, mills, and coordinate measuring machines, contributing to high-quality production processes. Candidates should have a solid understanding of GD&T, tooling, and manufacturing best practices, including lean manufacturing principles and plastics injection molding. - Operate and program CNC machines including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes using Fanuc controls.
- Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to produce precise components.
- Set up and calibrate machining equipment utilizing precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Perform CNC programming using CAM software and SolidWorks or CAD for design verification and toolpath creation.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling to assemble parts or perform maintenance on machinery.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to proper procedures for welding, machining, and handling materials like metals and plastics.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing practices.
- Operate forklifts when necessary for material handling within the facility.
- Assist in troubleshooting machine issues and performing routine maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
- Proven experience as a Class A Machinist with expertise in CNC programming.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, mechanical principles, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other design tools.
- Familiarity with precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Ability to operate CNC milling machines and CNC lathes efficiently.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize production workflows.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and effectively within the plant environment.
