POWER-tek Global Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with an active Professional Engineering (PE) license in the State of Ohio to support utility and energy infrastructure projects across North America.
The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of hands-on experience in power systems, transmission, and distribution engineering, with the ability to lead technical studies, review designs, and provide engineering oversight for utility-scale projects. This is a fully remote role, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and utility clients.
- Lead and perform power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and stability analysis.
- Support transmission and distribution system planning, design reviews, and system upgrades.
- Review, stamp, and approve engineering deliverables in compliance with Ohio PE requirements.
- Develop and review T&D designs, including substations, feeders, interconnections, and utility infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, NEC, and applicable utility and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
- Prepare engineering reports, technical memoranda, calculations, and client deliverables.
- Collaborate with utilities, project managers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Support proposal development, technical scopes, and client presentations as required.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio (mandatory).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in power systems, transmission, and distribution engineering.
- Strong expertise in utility-scale electrical infrastructure and grid systems.
- Proficiency with industry tools such as PSS®E, ETAP, CYME, EasyPower, PSCAD, or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. utility standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage multiple projects.
- Prior experience working with U.S. electric utilities, ISOs, or energy consultants.
- Experience with interconnection studies, renewable integration, and grid modernization projects.
- Multi-state PE licensure or ability to obtain licensure through comity.
- Experience supporting RFPs, technical proposals, and client engagements.
