The Canadian Operations Team has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrician. The successful candidate will be actively involved in maintenance, equipment optimization, start-up and troubleshooting of equipment in the Dawson Creek area. The current work schedule is to be determined; also provide on-call and back-up as necessary. There may be a requirement to change shift schedules to provide adequate coverage in the future. This role is based out of the Dawson Creek area.
Responsibilities:
•Conduct work in a manner prescribed by Ovintiv’s Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and Safe Work Practices.
•Provide electrical expertise in the maintenance of all gas processing facilities and field locations.
•Perform and/or manage the performance of work required to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and calibrate all electrical equipment.
•Help prepare and steward maintenance budget.
•Maintain superior housekeeping standards throughout the field and associated areas.
•Identify and assess opportunities to improve safety, reliability and maintenance costs.
•Manage compliance to industry and Ovintiv’s requirements.
•Understand and perform safety responsibilities such as hazard identification, emergency response.
•Ensure effective communication with operations, maintenance and management staff.
•Maintain proper documentation of calibration and repair records.
•Ensure ongoing performance improvement including job progression, site-specific training, process training.
•Utilize computerized maintenance management system.
Qualifications:
•Five or more years of related experience.
•A valid Power System Electrician, BC Journeyperson Electrician certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal certificate.
•Must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
•Must have knowledge and relevant maintenance experience in sour and sweet gas compression and processing facilities.
•Strong background in the BC Electrical Code and BC regulations.
•Have a strong background in protection and control for high voltage systems, specifically GE Mulitlin and Schweitzer relays.
•Background in executing and coordinating maintenance activities including installation, troubleshooting and repairs to all systems and equipment (electrical safety systems, motor starters, large medium voltage VFD systems and PLCs, 138kV/ 25kV/ 13.8KV/ 7.2KV / 5kV/ 600 V / 480 V and 220 V power distribution and computerized control systems).
•Proficient in use and application of PC programs, specifically in Enervista relay management software, Iniven software, GE Gem software, Putty Knowledge, PME experience.
•Execution of preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on all types of industrial electrical equipment.
•Previous support in development of preventative maintenance plans and auditable records for electrical equipment.
•Experience with and understanding of computerized maintenance management systems and procedures.
•Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
•Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
•Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
•This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Ovintiv Alcohol and Drug policy which includes pre-assignment testing.
In accordance with applicable law, the following represents Ovintiv's reasonable estimate of the hiring compensation range for this role.
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $125,000 to $142,000 CAD
Compensation may vary and will be determined by the geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
