- Provide leadership and management of the design group, including workload planning, task delegation, performance monitoring, scheduling, and HR-related activities (e.g., time sheets, vacations, training)
- Oversee technical documentation within the Engineering & Projects Department (E&P), ensuring all deliverables comply with project requirements and IMS standards
- Establish, integrate, and maintain best-practice methodologies to support knowledge-based decision-making across OCI. Mentor, coach, and train team members to apply these practices effectively
- Foster professional growth by promoting continuous skills development, collaboration, and adherence to IMS standards across the design team
- Direct and review design deliverables such as drawing updates, revision control, RFIs, As-Built documentation, change control, and other drafting initiatives
- Audit technical documents from both internal staff and external consultants to ensure accuracy and compliance with IMS requirements and engineered specifications
- Perform conceptual and detailed mechanical design for uranium mining and milling operations, supporting fabrication and construction phases through RFIs, shop inspections, and site visits
- Collaborate with and uphold IMS design standards among external engineering consultants across all Orano projects
- Coordinate and communicate within the E&P Engineering team and the Mill Engineering teams
- Ability to lead a team of designers and draftspersons to success by creating a supportive and motivating work environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to develop a positive and accountable team culture
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to address complex technical problems, interpret data, evaluate solutions and make informed decisions
- Ability to foster and maintain good working relationships with other departments within the company
- Ability to co-ordinate activities, information, materials or resources within own area of responsibility to meet deadlines
- Graduate of a recognized 2-year Engineering Technologist program
- Eligible for membership with the Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT)
- 10+ years of experience in an industrial design group- Experience in leading a small team of designers at varying levels of their career
- Professional designation and membership with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan is an asset
- Saskatoon Corporate Office (Monday through Friday)
- Occasional travel to Orano mine or project sites is required
