WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
The Hardware Engineering Technical Assistant provides essential support to the hardware engineering team, contributing to the design, development, and testing of electronic components and systems. This role involves assisting with prototype assembly, conducting basic tests, collecting and organizing data, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of electrical principles, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to supporting engineering projects. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic hardware development environment.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
•Assist with the development of circuit boards and systems while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
•Assist with the development and documentation of electronic and mechanical system requirements and analysis.
•Generate and maintain hardware design, manufacturing process, and quality control documentation.
•Collaborate with multiple teams to perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware defects.
•Generate and maintain CAD models and drawings of products and prototypes.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED (Required Qualifications)
•Circuit Design & Analysis: Understanding of electronic components, circuit behavior, and the ability to design and analyze circuits is fundamental.
•Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Tools: Proficiency in software and PCB layout is crucial.
•Understanding of Electronics: Knowledge of both analog and digital electronics, including their applications in design, is essential.
•Troubleshooting & Debugging: The ability to test, troubleshoot, and validate hardware prototypes using equipment like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
•Problem-Solving: The ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues in hardware design.
•Analytical Thinking: Strong skills to collect and interpret engineering data, identify inefficiencies, and optimize performance.
•Communication Skills: Clear and effective written and verbal communication is necessary for collaborating with other engineers and technical personnel.
•Attention to Detail: Crucial for accurately interpreting specifications and ensuring precision in design and documentation.
•Collaboration & Teamwork: Working effectively with other engineers and teams to achieve project goals.
•Critical Thinking: Applying logical reasoning to investigate problems and devise solutions.
WHAT ELSE WE ARE LOOKING FOR (Preferred Qualifications):
•High school diploma, trade school, or equivalent
•CE (Computer Engineering) or EE (Electrical Engineering) preferred.
•Professional working proficiency in Mandarin is a plus
Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Ability to walk the facility throughout the day.
•Ability to lift at least 15 lbs.
Environment:
You will work in a combination of warehouse and office environments throughout the day.
