Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC lathe machines to produce precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and quality control to ensure parts meet strict specifications. - Machine Operation: Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machine tools to produce precision parts.
- Setup: Setup and adjust machines to produce parts to specifications. This includes selecting the appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering blueprints, sketches, and drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications, using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and correct machine malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process enhancements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and parts produced.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a machinist or in a related role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.
- Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Precision Measurement: Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Mathematical Skills: Good understanding of basic mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machinery and production issues.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials as required.
