We are looking for a skilled and collaborative CNC Horizontal Mill setup person to join our manufacturing team. This role involves setting up and operating CNC Horizontal Mills as well as Vertical Mills to produce high-quality parts that meet or exceed customer specifications. - Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Mills and Vertical Mills based on written or verbal instructions.
- Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, and materials to ensure reliable operation and superior quality.
- Fabricate custom fixtures, jaws, and collets as needed for machining operations.
- Monitor tooling speed and feed rates to meet or exceed cycle time expectations; report any delays or issues.
- Document and communicate changes to programs or setup sheets for process consistency.
- Perform precision machining operations including milling, drilling, tapping, deburring, sawing, and sanding.
- Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure accuracy.
- Record production data using ERP systems.
- Operate multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain machine fluids and coolant levels within acceptable ranges.
- Sort and document scrap materials in accordance with company and environmental policies.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Recommend process improvements for efficiency and adaptability.
- Participate in lean team manufacturing activities while working toward the common goal of constant process improvement.
- Collaborate with team members and assign tasks such as loading/unloading, maintenance, and other duties to operators to support operations.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3 years of hands on CNC Horizontal Mill setup experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing priorities.
