We are currently seeking a full-time Designer (Civil) to join our team at one of our office locations. We welcome applicants who live near, or are able to work from, any of our locations across Western Canada. Explore Midwest for a map of our offices.
Summary Of Responsibilities
Working under the direct supervision of the Drafting Manager, you will be responsible for preparing grading designs, as-built and 3D models using GIS/CAD software on Windows platform stations. Your duties will include and are not limited to:
•Producing accurate and detailed drafting products using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other related modelling programs
•Analysis and creation of surfaces with the use of spatial data such as Lidar, Terrestrial Scanner and other survey formats
•Prepare site grading, road, pipeline corridor and pad facility designs
•Compare site designs with as-builts
•Calculate earthwork volumes
•Understanding survey plan content
•Understanding layers, line types and individual client requirements
•Using multiple communication tools, interacting regularly with internal and external clients to deliver optimal product
What You Offer
The successful candidate will have:
•A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Geomatics
•Highly proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, global mapper and terrestrial scanning software used for modelling oil and gas facilities is considered an asset.
•0-5 years experience in the survey industry, oil and gas, and the municipal drafting industry is preferred.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and projects
