The primary responsibility of the Business Analyst is to build and maintain a positive relationship between IT and business areas to ensure timely support of day-to-day business processing needs.
The Business Analyst acts as a bridge between IT, business departments, and external vendors, helping define, enhance, and align business processes with organizational goals.
This role supports both operational efficiency and strategic initiatives by analyzing systems, improving workflows, and ensuring the business receives maximum value from its technology investments.
The Business Analyst duties include, but are not limited to, the following;
- Maximize the value and ROI of operational and financial software by ensuring staff receive effective training and support, enabling efficient use of systems for sales, purchasing, material tracking, and accounting.
- Manage multiple technology and process improvement projects, balancing priorities and resources to meet operational and customer-driven timelines across recycling yards and administrative functions.
- Analyze business requirements and system challenges to design and implement solutions that improve data accuracy, workflow efficiency, and decision-making across operations, logistics, and finance.
- Evaluate and monitor internal operating costs through cost accounting and performance analysis to support margin optimization and management reporting.
- Identify and drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives, including the development of dashboards and KPI reporting to measure performance against operational and financial targets.
- Provide strategic support for existing systems and new technology implementations, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and internal control standards (e.g., audit trails, segregation of duties, and data integrity).
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, and accounting teams to document current (“as-is”) workflows—such as scale-to-invoice or dispatch-to-delivery processes—and design optimized (“to-be”) workflows that leverage IT systems to enhance productivity, traceability, and control.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Information Systems.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in business analysis, process optimization, and systems support.
- Preferred Certifications: IIBA CCBA® or CBAP® , Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate, PMP® or PMI-PBA®
- 4+ years operations experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is an asset.- Financial Systems background
- Business processes (Sales, Shipping, Inventory Management, etc.)
- Project Management
- Experience in successful implementations of systems.
- Experience with ERP systems
- Familiarity with relational database management systems and SQL.
- Power Bi
- HubSpot experience will be an asset.
