SUMMARY
The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations. This position will assist with month-end close processes and ensure accurate financial recordkeeping in compliance with company policies and procedures. The Junior Accountant will also prepare ad hoc reports and financial analysis as needed to support management decisions.
SALARY
Starting at $24 an hour.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Create and manage invoices, credit memos, and packing instructions
•Maintain accurate customer and part number records in the ERP system
•Generate weekly/monthly sales and inventory reports for internal use
•Accounts Receivable functions including credit memos, aging reports, and past-due follow-up
•Accounts Payable functions, including processing incoming supplier invoices
•Review and Approve Accounts Payable invoices. Ensure compliance with accounting and company policies
•Perform three-way match between purchase orders, invoices, and shipment tickets
•Reconcile monthly inventory and track aluminum billet shipments and payments to suppliers
•Provide backup support for shipping front office packages via FedEx, UPS, USPS
•Maintain accurate listing of fixed assets. Reconcile fixed asset counts
•Produce Ad-Hoc reports and analysis to support the Plant Management and Corporate Accounting
•Prepare month end accrual journal entries
QUALIFICATIONS
•Associate degree in accounting, or equivalent experience
•Understanding of accrual-based accounting
•Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, EPICS, SAGE, etc.)
•Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
•Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills
•Excellent customer service and communication skills
•Able to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing priorities
•Problem-solver with a creative, proactive mindset
•Professional, dependable, and resourceful under pressure
•Comfortable handling customer inquiries via phone, email, and ERP system
•Manufacturing experience preferred
•Metal/Aluminum Industry preferred
Additional Information:
This position reports directly to the Tennessee Plant Manager, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Corporate Chief Financial Officer. Standard office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The individual in this role is expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to the facility’s confidentiality policy at all times.
