SUMMARY
The Senior Landman will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the company's land assets. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in land acquisition, title examination, lease negotiations, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of land-related matters, and the ability to lead complex land transactions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Negotiate and execute oil and gas leases, surface use agreements, joint operating agreements and other land-related contracts to secure favorable terms for the company.
•Build and maintain positive relationships with surface and mineral owners, regulatory agencies, and industry partners to support operational success.
•Serve as a key point of contact with landowners, addressing questions and concerns while negotiating mutually beneficial agreements.
•Monitor and ensure compliance with lease terms, contractual commitments, and land-related obligations.
•Coordinate with State and Federal Regulatory agencies to support permitting, drilling and production objectives.
•Conduct title research and analysis to confirm ownership, resolve complex title issues, and support drilling and development efforts.
•Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments – including Lease Records, Division Order, Drilling/Completions, Marketing, Accounting/Finance, Regulatory, and Planning – as well as external partners to align land efforts with broader business goals.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
•This position does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
•Minimum 5 years of experience as an in-house Landman or similar role
•Highly analytical and overall ability to thoroughly understand issues and foresee all complexities
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency in Excel and Word
•Familiarity with Colorado Energy & Carbon Management Commission (ECMC) and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) policies and procedures
•Ability to effectively manage projects and prioritize deliverables in order to meet deadlines

COMPENSATION
•The compensation range for this position is $140,000-$170,000. Our compensation structure reflects the comparable market pay rate for positions at companies similar in size, revenue generation and geographic location; in addition to individual factors including seniority, performance-based merit, education/training and experience related to scope of responsibilities.
