In this role, you will help maintain the crucial infrastructure of Central Texas and your workplace will be in the extraordinary Texas outdoors. You Will Be Trusted To•Install, maintain, remove, inspect, test, and repair electric motors, generators, electrical circuit breakers, condensers, transformers, switches, communication systems, and electrical and electronic control equipment and wiring.
•Locate and repair failures in electrical and electronic circuits and equipment; install test apparatus on all electrical equipment. Implement solutions to electrical and electronic control system problems.
•Perform maintenance, repair and operational / diagnostic tests as required on all power apparatus in substations, power plants, or other installations. Record test results. Develop and prepares summary of test results in reports.
•Install and maintain lighting, and other types of electrical equipment at power plants, communications facilities, substations, pump houses, dams and other locations.
•Read/interpret blueprints and drawings, consults manuals, parts lists, etc., to assist in performing work. Keep drawings and schematics up to date and accurate.
•Operate handheld manual tools and power tools in performing electrical tasks.
•Operate and transport heavy equipment (e.g., backhoe, dump truck, small excavator and large excavator) and aerial bucket equipment (e.g., man lifts, jib lifts and bucket trucks) and cranes (e.g., mobile cranes and facility cranes).
•Perform work by traveling independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, etc.) as scheduled.
You Qualify With
•Three or more years of experience in maintenance and/or construction of electrical power, transmission, distribution, substation and control equipment, and/or other types of electrical equipment, including experience reading blueprints.
•A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
•Class A Texas commercial driver’s license
