Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Semi/Truck Technician with strong expertise in computer diagnostics to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial vehicles, with an emphasis on identifying issues using advanced diagnostic software and electronic systems.
Note: This technician will also need to be able to perform Field Calls on the road with a company truck provided. A clean driving record is required.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on semi-trucks using OEM diagnostic tools (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link, International NEDS).
•Read and interpret fault codes, sensor data, and electronic system reports.
•Repair and maintain engine, transmission, aftertreatment systems (DEF/DPF), electrical systems, and braking components.
•Perform routine maintenance and DOT inspections.
•Collaborate with service advisors and other technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and efficient repair.
•Maintain accurate records of all work performed using maintenance software or repair orders.
•Stay updated with current diagnostic technologies, recalls, and manufacturer updates.
•Comply with all safety standards and company policies.
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED required; technical school or ASE certification preferred.
•Minimum 2-5 years of experience working on diesel trucks, with emphasis on diagnostics.
•Proficient with OEM and third-party diagnostic software and scan tools.
•Strong understanding of CAN bus systems, ECMs, sensors, and emission control systems.
•Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
•Must own basic tools; specialty diagnostic tools provided.
•CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus.
•Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in outdoor or shop environments.

Physical Requirements:- Ability to work a rotating schedule and/or varying shifts. Ability to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. Ability to pass pre-employment physical. Regularly required to use hands, fingers, and feet in a coordinated effort to move levers, depress foot pedals, and turn dials to operate power machinery. Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently ascends or descends ladders, stairs, elevated walkways, ramps and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time in the operation of mobile equipment.
