This a core-team member role is for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in a hybrid capacity located in Cambridge, MA, Greater New York, or Montreal in Canada with flexibility for partial remote work. The engineer will lead the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems for modular power infrastructure technologies. Responsibilities include creating detailed 3D models, collaborating with cross-functional teams, conducting mechanical simulations, refining product designs, and ensuring designs meet strict performance and safety criteria. Other duties include staying updated on industry standards, materials, and technologies to influence innovative engineering solutions.
- Expertise in Design Engineering and Product Design
- Outstanding background in Mechanical Engineering and Structural Design
- Very strong proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and software
- Experience in developing and testing modular or scalable mechanical systems
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Bachelor's, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Ivy league alum preferred
- Experience working with energy systems or similar industries (preferred)
