Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in heavy equipment and vehicle maintenance, with a strong background in diesel engine repair, diagnostics, and mechanical troubleshooting. This role involves performing repairs, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on a variety of diesel-powered machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems on heavy equipment, farm machinery, and commercial vehicles.
- Conduct vehicle maintenance including brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and tire services.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers for maintenance or repair purposes.
- Perform assembly and disassembly of components during repairs or upgrades.
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with equipment repair projects that require heavy lifting or specialized skills in welding or fabrication.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and efficiently.
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic Service Technician with dealership or heavy equipment experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and power tools operation.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Experience working with heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers.
- Skilled in welding, soldering, tire service, alignment procedures, brake repair, shocks & struts replacement.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with heavy equipment maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license is required; experience operating heavy equipment is a plus.
