This is a full-time role for a Substation Engineer, PE. The Substation Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and maintaining substation systems. The role involves creating and reviewing electrical designs, performing system studies, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing technical support. Collaboration with clients, team members, and other stakeholders will be a key component of day-to-day tasks.
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of substation projects, ensuring adherence to technical standards and project timelines.
- Develop detailed electrical system designs such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and CAD software, including schematics and system layouts.
- Manage project scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination among multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely project delivery.
- Perform system analysis and modeling using simulation tools to optimize substation performance.
- Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Collaborate with GIS specialists for spatial data integration and system mapping.
- Conduct technical reviews of project deliverables such as schematics, drawings, and specifications.
- Provide mechanical knowledge input for equipment selection and integration within electrical systems.
- Support system design improvements through innovative solutions in systems engineering and mechanical integration.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with industry standards.
- Some travel throughout the United States may be required to support project work.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Expertise in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Distribution
- Comprehensive understanding of Power Systems including planning, design, and optimization
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills
- Familiarity with relevant software tools and industry standards
