Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Store Manager Relief to oversee daily store operations in the absence of the store manager. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high levels of customer service, managing staff, and ensuring smooth store functioning. The position offers an opportunity to develop managerial skills across various retail environments, including grocery stores and specialty retail outlets.
- Supervise and coordinate daily store activities to ensure operational efficiency and excellent customer service.
- Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to foster a productive team environment.
- Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize sales and presentation standards.
- Handle cash register operations, including cashiering, cash handling, and POS system management.
- Conduct employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, and onboarding processes.
- Assist with purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and budgeting to meet financial goals.
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and perform basic payroll functions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and health standards.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints with professionalism and tact.
- Support marketing initiatives and promotional activities to increase store traffic and sales.
- Perform administrative duties such as organizational tasks and report generation as needed.
- Strong leadership with proven supervisory experience in retail or grocery settings.
- Excellent communication skills, including bilingual or multilingual abilities preferred.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems, POS technology, and retail math.
- Skilled in negotiation, sales management, merchandising, and pricing strategies.
- Effective team management with experience in training & development and shift management.
- Competent in bookkeeping, payroll processing, budgeting, and cash handling procedures.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
- Knowledge of marketing techniques and wireless sales is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to handle customer service issues tactfully while maintaining professionalism.
- Experience in assistant management roles or store management positions is highly desirable. This role is vital for ensuring seamless store operations during managerial absences while providing opportunities for professional growth within the retail industry.
