Mechanical Designer, HVAC Commercial and Industrial Markets
ISOTECH Industries Inc., a well-known manufacturer in the field of vibration control and restraint system, has an opening for a Mechanical Designer for the North American Commercial, Industrial, and Environmental markets in our Anaheim, California office. The successful candidate will be supporting the Sales and Engineering Team to maintain customer relationships as well as design and present engineered solutions for a variety of applications. · Review the requirements of the project to ensure that all applicable information is received from the client. Contact client for additional information if required.
· Track request for information. Liaise with customers and in-house engineering and sales staff to clarify information.
· Upload documents and drawings into the company internal portal for project filing.
· Send out drawings and update tracking sheet.
· Review equipment drawings for weights and dimensions and highlight key information for project managers to easily retrieve.
· Provide basic take-offs on drawings to verify quantities against orders.
· Co-ordinate releases of product drawings, engineering shop drawings and manufacturing production drawings.
· Learn and become knowledgeable with acoustic engineering and design
· Follow up on stamping of drawings, change notices and final sign-off letters.
· Follow up on production schedules and notify project managers on potential issues.
· Book site visits for project managers/engineers and process final sign-off letters.
· Ability and desire to obtain P.E certification
· Minimum 2-3 years prior work experience is an asset, preferably in noise control, mechanical engineering, HVAC systems or construction projects
· Proficient in AutoCAD, Solid-works, PDF and Excel
· Experience and knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication methods is an asset
· Must be able to work independently on projects and move on to new projects without supervision; must be a self-starter
· Through knowledge of sheet metal types, gauges and weights
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
· Ability to work in a fast paced, continually changing, environment
· Proven ability to work to deadlines and comfortable multi-tasking.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment
