ICE Dragon is hiring a structural engineer to conduct inspections and collaborate with our crew of corrosion experts! With the full support of the ICE Dragon team, you will work closely with our diverse clients and be our subject matter expert on all things structural.
- You will carry out thorough structural audits at our client sites, working in tandem with corrosion specialists and client teams.
- You will work on a wide variety of structural steel and concrete mining assets, both in process facilities and underground.
- You will collect field data, identify defect issues, and discuss/understand client maintenance activities.
- You will write highly actionable site audit reports, providing the client with timely solutions, detailed inspections, next steps, and maintenance best practices.
- You will support the client and internal project team with practical structural knowledge and coaching on routine maintenance tasks.
- Your positive attitude will support a proactive maintenance culture through coaching and oversight.
- You will act as a "boots on the ground" ambassador for ICE Dragon acting as the link between the client site and ICE Dragon.
- You will train and support junior team members as they grow accustomed to client relationship management, site visits, and travel.
- Expect site travel up to 50% of your time
- You are a Professional Engineer or hold a P.Eng license (EITs are not eligible at this time)
- You have minimum of 4 years of experience with a high volume of field work
- Related inspection qualifications such as API 577 or API 571 are considered assets
- You are able to quickly build rapport and trust with stakeholders at different seniority levels.
- You have excellent accountability, solid time management, and you’re able to accurately follow processes and provide reliable reporting.
- You have an authoritative, approachable, and friendly demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively and frequently with varying levels of stakeholder (from leadership to field personnel).
- You are collaborative, helpful, responsive, friendly, with a no-nonsense attitude.
- You take site safety seriously and understand the importance of compliance.
- Strong project management of multiple, concurrent activities and deadlines
- Mature and professional with strong verbal communication and coaching skills.
- Fluent English required. French is considered an asset.
The salary range for this role starts at CAD 110,000 and will depend on experience. An annual discretionary bonus of up to 10% is offered based on the performance of the company and your personal performance.
