The current opportunity is to become a permanent, full-time Solar Installer Technician team member for residential and commercial installations around Guelph and the surrounding areas. This position would focus on installing and maintaining solar electric equipment.
- Installing solar PV modules, racking systems, and related hardware on rooftops and ground-mount structures.
- Working outdoors most days, in all weather conditions.
- Lifting and transporting solar panels, inverters, Tesla Powerwalls and other necessary materials.
- Completing mechanical assembly, mounting, and alignment of solar equipment according to design and engineering specifications.
- Running conduit, wire, and preparing pathways for electrical connections.
- Reading and interpreting installation plans, layout drawings, and site documentation.
- Conducting site preparation tasks, including measuring, marking, staging materials, and ensuring safe access points.
- Using hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment properly and safely at all times.
- Ensuring all roof penetrations, flashing, and weatherproofing are completed to industry standards.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site throughout the installation process.
- Following all safety protocols, fall-protection requirements, and company procedures.
- Communicating effectively with Team Leads, Technicians, Project Managers, and Sales to support efficient workflow.
- Completing basic troubleshooting, system checks, and installation quality inspections.
- Documenting installation progress and capturing required photos for project records.
- Maintaining high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on safety.
- Communicating with customers in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner.
- Providing best-in-class service to customers.
- Carrying forward Guelph Solar’s reputation.

The following skills and qualifications would be an asset
- Hands on construction or farm experience
- Experience with and comfortable at heights (including but not limited to snowboarding/skiing/rock climbing/tree work/roof work)
- Valid G Drivers Licence
