Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Specialist to provide technical assistance and support to our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining network security, and ensuring smooth operation of IT systems across multiple platforms including Windows, macOS, and Linux. This role requires excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach to deliver effective IT support to end-users. - Provide technical support for desktop and laptop computers, peripherals, and software applications across various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues promptly.
- Manage and support computer networking components such as LAN, firewall configurations, and VPN connections.
- Utilize ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy, and other ticketing systems to document issues, track progress, and communicate resolutions effectively.
- Assist users with operating system issues, software troubleshooting, and application support including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Configure and maintain network security measures including firewalls and VPNs to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
- Support help desk operations by responding to user inquiries via phone, email, or chat with professionalism and clarity.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as system updates, hardware upgrades, and software installations.
- Collaborate with IT team members on projects involving computer hardware setup, network improvements, or deployment of new systems.
- Maintain documentation of technical procedures and user guides for ongoing support needs.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Experience with computer networking concepts such as LAN/WAN setup, firewalls, VPNs, and network security protocols.
- Proficiency in using ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy for ticket management and workflow tracking.
- Skilled in troubleshooting software issues related to Microsoft Office applications and other enterprise software.
- Familiarity with hardware components including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
- Ability to configure and support firewalls and VPNs for secure remote access.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on resolving issues efficiently while maintaining positive user relationships.
- Knowledge of IT support best practices in a help desk environment along with experience in computer hardware maintenance. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about technology who enjoy solving complex problems while providing exceptional support to users across diverse platforms.
