- Assist with the organization, loading, and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment within the yard area.
- Operate basic machinery and tools safely, including forklifts (if certified), hand trucks, and other yard equipment.
- Support facilities maintenance tasks such as cleaning, minor repairs, painting (including residential painting), and upkeep of outdoor areas.
- Conduct routine inspections of yard fencing, signage, and safety barriers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Assist with inventory management by tracking supplies using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or manual logs.
- Follow schematics and mechanical drawings when assisting with equipment repairs or installations involving electrical or mechanical components.
- Support welding or electrical tasks under supervision when required, utilizing relevant skills such as understanding schematics or using an ohmmeter.
- Maintain a clean and organized yard environment to promote safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to supervise daily activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Communicate effectively in English with team members, supervisors, and contractors to coordinate tasks efficiently.
- Participate in ongoing training related to programmable logic controllers (PLCs), facilities maintenance, or other technical areas as needed.
- Basic mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and understand mechanical systems.
- Experience or familiarity with electrical systems; ability to use tools such as an ohmmeter is preferred.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, facilities maintenance, or related outdoor work environments is advantageous.
- Strong supervisory or leadership experience demonstrating the ability to oversee tasks safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of welding techniques and residential painting is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to operate basic yard machinery safely; forklift certification is preferred but not required if willing to obtain certification upon hire.
- Good communication skills in English for effective teamwork and safety compliance.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
