We are seeking a hands-on, process-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to drive continuous improvement across our fabrication and assembly operations. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about optimizing processes, reducing waste, and enabling scalable growth.
- Conduct process reviews and time studies to identify improvement opportunities and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Design and implement fixtures to improve weld quality, reduce setup time, and enhance operator ergonomics.
- Develop custom nesting strategies to maximize sheet utilization using TRUMPF BOOST (training provided).
- Optimize bending operations and reduce setup times through AMADA 4i software (training provided).
- Utilize SolidWorks to enhance parts for manufacturability by adjusting blanks, adding etching for reference, slot and tab for assembly and other improvements.
- Create and maintain standardized work instructions, process steps, and floor layouts for new and existing products.
- Collaborate with weld teams to divide responsibilities for complex weldments (e.g., sub-assembly, tack, burn-out).
- Establish standard setup and run times to support accurate production scheduling in our ERP system (PLEX).
- Build and maintain BOMs, routing steps, and time standards within PLEX.
- Support new product introduction, fixture validation, and process documentation.
- Partner with supervisors and operators to ensure smooth implementation of process changes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred, or extensive applicable experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a sheet metal fabrication or similar manufacturing environment.- Proficient in SolidWorks (required).
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn TRUMPF BOOST and AMADA 4i software.
- Experience with ERP systems (PLEX preferred) for BOM and routing management.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, blueprint reading, and welding fundamentals.
- Demonstrated success in project management, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
