Do you thrive in fast-paced environments and have a commitment to delivering prompt solutions? We’re looking for a Freight Forwarding Agent to support our Aerospace clients with critical, time-sensitive shipments during the night shift.
The Freight Forwarding Agent will be part of our
Aerospace teamand serve as the liaison between assigned customers and Blue Water Shipping. Our primary customers include aviation companies and airline vendors. This role handles all customer requirements from start to finish of the shipment process and works closely with the Air and Warehouse operational departments for both imports and exports.

This position is designated for a
night shift schedule, primarily
outside of regular business hours (second or third shift), and is
mostly remote. The role requires flexibility, strong responsiveness, and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities and deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as a key point of contact for customers within the aerospace and aviation sector
- Obtain all necessary shipment details to prepare accurate and competitive quotes (weight, dimensions, commodity, routing, hazardous status)
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries, ensuring frequent and clear communication
- Manage changing priorities and challenging deadlines with professionalism and urgency
- Understand and manage AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations with time-critical accuracy
- Ensure all units (e.g., aircraft engines, APUs, TRs, Inlet Cowls, engine stands) are properly secured, documented, and photographed
- Willingness and capability to work overnight hours and weekends as required
- Coordinate booking requests and create operational files in a timely manner
- Source competitive carrier rates to maximize file profitability
- Prepare compliant documentation per airline, shipping line, and destination requirements
- Offer and coordinate cargo insurance, pick-up, and delivery services
- Arrange special handling services for urgent or high-value shipments
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure shipment readiness
- Send pre-alerts and tracking updates to customers and agents
- Monitor shipments through to final delivery and resolve issues proactively
- Billing and file closure within 3 days of departure
- Maintain and organize filing records weekly
- Ensure Credit Applications and Power of Attorney (POA) documents are on file
- Inform clients of all applicable charges and logistics processes
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers and internal teams
- Stay informed on market trends and competitor activities
- Foster a professional, collaborative work environment
- Support colleagues and team members as needed- 4+ years of freight forwarding experience, including import and export operations
- Experience in international multimodal shipping and domestic air/ocean logistics
- Familiarity with aerospace logistics and time-critical freight requirements
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods (DG) regulations and packaging standards
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of budget-based decision-making
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under time constraints and shifting priorities
- Proactive communicator with strong customer service orientation
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to implement team feedback
- Adaptable communication style for diverse stakeholders (customers, vendors, colleagues)
- Availability to work independently during night shifts, including weekends
- Ability to handle urgent and high-pressure situations with professionalism
