Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shop Assistant to join our team in a dynamic oil and gas business. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and experience in a shop. As a Shop Hand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our assembly line and contributing to the overall efficiency of our manufacturing facility. The pay rate for this position depends on experience.
Responsibilities
•
Maintaining a clean environment on the yard and within the shop.
•
Delivering oil/chemicals to customers.
•
Operate forklifts and other machinery safely and efficiently.
•
Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
•
Cleaning shop and containments.
•
Keeping the shop stocked with products.
•
Making repairs and swapping parts on tanks, nozzles and hoses.
Qualifications
•
Mechanical knowledge is essential for understanding equipment and processes.
•
Previous experience in a shop.
•
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
•
Ability to operate forklifts; certification is a plus but not required.
•
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
•
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
•
Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing tasks within the shop environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
