In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all Cvi employees are expected to:
- Design products and projects in SOLIDWORKS with file storage in PDM.
- Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and functions.
- Supports the Director of Engineering’s objectives.
Responsibilities / Duties / Functions / Tasks
- Your role will be a CAD design engineer. This role is given a high level of autonomy to develop designs, models, and drawings.
- Generate conceptual drawings based on input from team coordination meetings or management.
- Create shop drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5-2018 (GD&T).
- Apply design principles that meet applicable codes and standards, including, but not limited to, AWS D1.1, D1.3, D1.5; ASME; ISO 9001:2015; NFPA 70; MIL-STD; AFMAN; and OSHA.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering standards, work instructions (WIKI), and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Engage in hands-on prototype development and assembly to support new product development and current product improvement.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders on the technical aspects of their projects.
- Manage independent projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Produce technical manuals and product guides as required.
- Partner with QC/QA to ensure compliance with standards and to develop acceptance test procedures (ATPs) for products.- 4+ years designing for light and/or heavy fabrication or mobile equipment.
- Professional level knowledge of SolidWorks and PDM (required).
- Basic knowledge of project management tools. We use Smartsheet.
- Communicates effectively in written and spoken form.
