ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES under the supervision and direction of a licensed operatorinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates manually or by remote control to regulate flow of sewage. Adjusts chemical dosages, flows, as necessary and as indicated by tests.
Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets computer, meter, and gauge readings and tests results to determine corrective operational requirements.
Starts and stops pumps, engines, and generators as required. Regulates flow of raw sewage through treatment plants. Also takes corrective action to assure settling, aeration, and sludge digestion process for optimum performance.
Maintains log of operations and records computer, meter, and gauge readings.
Collects sewage samples and conducts process control laboratory tests, etc.
Maintains, troubleshoots, and performs routine repairs and adjustments to systems and equipment; prepares work orders for maintenance; assists plant mechanics with maintenance projects.
Operates a vehicle and various other equipment, including computer, pumps, lab equipment, blowers, mechanic's tools, various other hand, and power tools, etc.
Performs all duties in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and standards of quality and safety or related duties as required.
Performs general housekeeping/ buildings/ equipment vehicles/ grounds maintenance tasks as required.
Responds to customer inquiries and dispatches necessary crews as needed.
Work is of a continuous nature and may require evening and holiday/shift work and overtime as required.
