Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the Province
Reporting to the Team Lead, Server Operations, Technology and Innovation, the Intermediate Server Analyst (Infrastructure) shall be responsible for day-to-day operations within the Government of Alberta (GoA) Server Environment, focusing on windows virtual server support activities.
The role is to assist in the daily operational support of a virtual server environment, with a focus on a VMware virtualized hosting infrastructure.
Excellent customer focus and client service skills, a proven ability to function in both individual and team environments, and exceptional technical troubleshooting and problem resolution skills are desired.
The contracted resource must adhere to existing GoA policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and practices
Responsible for proactively maintaining and improving the server core infrastructure functionality and to work within existing procedures and guidelines to meet client business requirements.
• perform hardware and OS installations, migrations and/or upgrades.
• plan for software and hardware upgrades and/or migrations.
• maintain operating systems and associated infrastructure software.
• provide cross training and knowledge transfer to other server team members on relevant aspects of hardware and software support.

• Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues.
• It is anticipated the role will be 100% remote, however in the event of an onsite meeting, the GoA does not pay for travel to attend on-site meetings, nor any expenses related to relocation, commuting, housing/accommodation, food/drink.
• This resource will primarily work remotely; however, the resource may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in office on reasonable notice from the Province. At the time of providing such notice, the Province will advise of the expected duration of any such meetings or work sessions. However, time to travel and any associated expenses to and from Edmonton and/or travel within Alberta will be at no cost to the Province.
